Why join us
Our Indian society, to a large extent, is guided by our “chalta hai” attitude.
We all scoff at it. But most of us submit to it nevertheless.
We complain of problems that our society faces, yet most of us remain mute spectators.
We cannot expect others - whether politicians or the government of the day, to come to our rescue if we ourselves don't raise our voice. The grassroots initiatives and actions of the ordinary citizens could do a lot. The media and judiciary of course play vital roles. But, like in the case of politicians, their actions are also largely impacted by popular actions and moods. They don't operate in a vacuum. The relationship is interactive though.
Not for nothing it is said that the price of liberty is vigilance. Democracy works only when the citizens are vigilant and vocal.
While a political party would demand strict submission to its "discipline"; in a citizens' group one can breathe far more freely and yet get counted and make some difference. Individual initiative is of course valuable.
But group action is usually far more effective and social bonding is important in itself.
And it is only through large bodies of people bonded together significant social changes are brought about.
And the number counts.
And of course the commitment and the merit of the cause. So larger the number, the better it is.
And this group does not demand much of your time.
A group meeting usually once in a month. Occasionally we sit together to "discuss" and brainstorm. And , of course, one or two group actions
in a month to highlight issues of vital importance.
So let's climb down from the fence. Let's meet and join hands. For a better tomorrow.
Please give your details & we will keep you updated.
